ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Family owned, FRANCISCAN INTERIORS is proud to have served our clients for 40 years as a full-service design consultation, project management, furniture manufacturing, and workroom company in San Francisco.

Our fabrication services specialize in the manufacturing of custom furniture, re-upholstery, antique restoration, and wall coverings. Our services are open to both individuals and the design trade. Our soft goods program includes bedding, slip covers, pillows, cushions, and custom sewing projects that require special attention to detail. We can satisfy your commercial and residential window treatment projects with custom made drapes, roman shades, and blinds.

Our facility is located at 540 Barneveld, Suite M in the Bayshore area of San Francisco. Our clients are welcome to come by and discuss projects, choose fabrics and window covers from our library, lay out materials, and inspect both finished and in-process goods in our shop. We are in close proximity and have easy access to the San Francisco Design Center for projects that require materials and fabrics that extend beyond our in-house library. A designer at Franciscan Interiors is available to provide design consulting outside of our showroom to assist a client in the search.

If you are looking for a service oriented company with a long standing history of satisfied clients, both nationally and internationally, we would love to quote your next project. Send us a fax or email of specifications for your projects or call us for a private appointment. We pride ourselves on completing projects on time, and you will find our workmanship of the highest quality.

SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENT

All of our custom items utilize sustainable products whenever possible. Our standard practice for 10 years includes sourcing FSC-Certified (Forest Stewardship Council) woods for our frames and using water based glues. If a project specifies specialty wood, we offer farmed wood and have been able to provide this alternative for over 40 years.  Inside the upholstery, we offer the choice to use Latex foam (100% natural) wrapped in organic wool wrap or organic cotton batting, all certifiable. We use natural jute for tying springs, and if requested jute can also be used for cord or welt. Our metal springs are recycled metal. Before your choice of fabric is applied, we upholster your custom piece in organic cotton muslin. Our cushions and throw pillows can be stuffed with natural down or recycled Dacron. We carry organic lines in our fabric library as well, which can be used for upholstery or drapery. Drapery can be lined with optional organic lining, and one of our roller shade fabric vendors, Phifer Sheerweave, has a "cradle to cradle" program for their vinyl materials.

As the industry presents these sustainable options to us as manufacturers, we are among the first in line to adopt. In meetings with our workroom suppliers and fabric line representatives, we push to see more of these options available. Ultimately if the materials are requested by the client, we can make furniture that is 80-90% certified eco-friendly, with the other percentage of components still recycled or natural, but without certification available. We also provide the option for "cradle to cradle" if our clients bring back our furniture for disposal. Please let us know how we can help.
